License tabs
We are going on a long trip next year and our tabs are going to be due while we are gone. I know I can pay on-line but how do we actually get the tabs

I don't know which state you are in, but if it is Washington, here's what DOL says:

Renew Tabs Online (Not through License eXpress)
Renew with your License eXpress account (What is License eXpress?)
Go to a vehicle licensing office
By mail (If you got our letter)

You can renew up to 6 months before your tabs expire. Do you want to get renewal reminders?
By email. Sign up, update or remove your email reminders.
By mail. Please keep your address updated to receive them.
