WE ARE NOT REGULATING OURSELVES, it may be a matter of time when someone else decides it is time to regulate.
Not all dealer could care less. I know of a dealer that had a family show up with a overloaded 1/2 ton Suburban to take delivery of a very large TT.
The sales manager delivering the unit to the purchaser commented but was brushed off and dismissed by the customer.
Within 5 miles of the dealership the new owner rolled the truck and trailer and injured several passengers in the Suburban.
From that day forward the dealership insisted on seeing the tow vehicle before a signed contract is made and then still reserves the right in the contract to cancel the sale at delivery if the dealership does not feel it is safe.
I know this is the exception to the rule, but at least one dealership does care greatly for the safety of both their customers and others on the highways
my dealer requires a signed statement that you will use a tow vehicle that is adequate/rated for the unit bought.
