For one, a call to Jayco is long distance for me. Last time I called Jayco they had me on hold for 42 minutes before I even got to speak to them. At 30 or 40 cents a minute, no thanks. Emailing has typically got me the, "call us and we can help".
And I wanted to have a discussion with other people about it. I figured this was similar for other brands as well and people may have looked into it already or know more about it than I do. Typically that's what Internet forums are for.
I agree with Old-Biscuit ... only the manufacturer of your trailer can give you the best and most accurate answer. Internet forums are fine for gleaning information for conversation sake, but since there is typically no "GROUND TRUTH" IMO it would be foolish to blindly fall into the "I heard it on the internet so it must be true" abyss.
BTW if you're paying 30 to 40 cents/min for your cell service you need IMO to update your plan since almost everyone now days has unlimited calling.
