The very first words out of his mouth are that he's "on disability". I interpret that to mean that he's getting a Government check every month, and probably other taxpayer-funded benefits.

If that's the "new normal" for determining who's a Real American, Heaven help us!
    Unfortunately, I think it is.
  • "he could have fought for your right to critize him."

    You're kidding, right?
  • Disability is a broad term. He could be a veteran, he could have fought for your right to critisize him. He could have been born disabled, he is not laying on his can feeling sorry for himself. I prefer to give the benefit of doubt and laud him for trying. We are all disabled in some manner, sometimes it is in the thought processes ~~~~just sayin.

  • I don't know but, it seems to me that if he could do all that work on his rig, he certainly could be gainfully employed.
  • This the portrait of the real American. He is making his way on his own. I am amazed at how clear his mind is and his ability to think every detail out. When we are feeling sorry for ourselves, I want to remember this guy just does it.
  • Can't believe he can afford to buy cigarettes!

But aside from that, he's doing great! He may be disabled but that doesn't stop him from using hand tools and ingenuity to avoid being homeless.
  • $600 doesn't sound like much, but he seems to manage okay.
  • :h

I sat through the whole thing- cheap reno, all right, but where does the "only $600.00 a month" come in?

Hard to believe that someone that says right off the bat that he's on disability for muscular dystrophy isn't getting a lot more support than that!
  • glad there are rules to never allow that in a CG.

I noticed the cigarette in his hand. Likely spending 500 a month on smokes.
