If you leave your local channels area, how do you connect to local channels in the area you are in ? Thanks for all replies.

We use the DirecTV AM-21 off-the-air tuner. Costs $50 or less (look for deals) to buy, no additional charges. Uses the DirecTV DVR to record the local shows just like anything else. Really slick. Takes about 10 minutes to configure it for a new location. Gotta be in a location where your off-the-air antenna works. We use the Winegard batwing with the UHF kit. Works with most modern DirecTV receivers.
