Locking gas cap

Picked up a Stand locking gas cap 10510 for my 2019 E450 class C. At my friendly neighborhood auto parts store. $14.00. No tether though. I might make one up. We'll see. I park my RV in my driveway so it is probably ok but things are getting a bit more interesting "Out there" so just taking a little precaution.
  • They just drill a hole in the tank these days.. Most "newer" rigs have a gizmo in the filler neck to keep a siphon hose from getting down the throat. At least my 97 F150 had one and I think even my 86 Mustang GT had one.

Watch your cat converters too... Those are still 'hot' items these days..

    Good luck!

  • I put locking cap on my stuff years back
Going OT; The first locking cap I bought was for a pickup that was rarely used. All my drivers had permission to use it if needed. Just make sure had 1/4 tank of gas, and park over pan when get back. The door key, and the gas cap key lived on a hook in shed. The ing key hangs on the dipstick tube. I buy the oil, but make sure it's full before you start it.
  • Still have mine from the last spike but this is a good reminder ??
A bit bummed that a trip doesn't seem to be in the books this year, but maybe that's a blessing in disguise... it'll certainly be interesting where prices go.
