Anyone traveled long distance recently in an RV? My wife and I need to get back home to Seattle, WA from South Florida in our truck camper. I know many(most?) campgrounds are closed but we are pretty self sufficient and willing to boondock every night. My concern is finding dump stations that are still open and finding potable water fill up places. Also some states have quarantine requirements for visitors, do you think this applies to someone who is just quickly passing through in an RV? Anyone have recent experience in these trying times? most public campgrounds are closed in most but not all states. with certain exceptions i think you’ll find most privately owned parks are open. best stategy is to call ahead, make reservations and pay online/over the phone). i prefer over the phone...lesz chance for confusion. we’re in phoenix, home is in chicago. i called all of the usual parks we use and found between here and there (AZ, NM, TX, OK, MO and IL) and all are open. will check again before we head out but i don’t think we’ll have any problem. i don’t think you will either.

Just drive. There aren't any road closures. Service stations, grocery stores, drive throughs, wally worlds are all open.Can even get a large cocktail to go from some bars here!!If you're not resourceful enough to find water, cant help there, but water is not shut off either. If you need multiple dump stations, you may be driving too slow! Dump gray in the weeds somewhere. If you fill the black tank, stop eating!

Not anywhere near your distance.. CA to NM a couple weeks ago. Most gas stations open, maybe not the really rural ones. No border problems of any kind. AZ state parks were open, but I went ahead and boondocked anyway because I know those places. Not much traffic makes it nice.You should be fine.

This time first day we didn't see any. 2nd day 3 passed us heading south (all were new units) saw one unit heading north like us. 3rd day 5 passed us heading south (3 new units) and one passed us heading north.Went into to 2 truck stops hoping to get grilled hot dogs. No luck! They shut that area down.

Mandatory quarantine orders don’t apply to passer-through’ers. If they did, truckers wouldn’t be able to drive through. As as far as dump stations go, there’s a website, rvdumps.com, and several apps for smart phones that can help you find one. :):)

Did 1550 miles from Florida to New England a week ago. Stayed totally self-contained and used 6 gallons in our black tank in 4 days of travel (we just filled it). Point is you may need to dump. We packed food and water and used dog poop bags to grab the fuel pump handle. Beautiful trip because so few were on the road.

Texas has set up check points for traffic entering Texas from Louisiana. One of the so called hot spots. Truckers and medical personnel can pass thru, but most all others are being questioned and told they must self quarantine for two weeks and provide info on where they will be doing that. I would think a self contained RV passing thru would qualify for that. But ????? May be better to drift north of Texas.

If you Google "RV dump" in whatever city you are thinking of being in...you will get the listings. I have learned tho, that many gas stations no longer offer this, so a phone call would be in order. In the 3 months we were out, over winter...Washington, Oregon, California, Arizona, Nevada and southern Utah? never had a problem finding a dump.
