- carbourExplorerI remember watching that movie as kids. We were able to relate to it because in 1948 My parents loaded kids and my aunt into a car and followed my Dad and big brothers who were in a truck pulling a “Long long trailer” We started in New York and ended up in California. It was supposed to be a permanent move but we ended up coming back. We have driven our motor home across the country a few times. Cannot imagine what it was like with no freeways and limited facilities. I was very young and only remember the stories. not much of the actual trip.
- tegu69ExplorerYes, watched it three times in a row at Bates RV while they prepped our new fifth wheel. Had to get up and walk around after that.
- bigwheelsturninExplorerGreat movie..:-)
- Go_DogsExplorerFYI: If you go to the TCM website: you can set up a search for any of their broadcast titles, they will email you with a reminder the next time it is shown. Then just set the DVR!
- lots2seeinmyrvExplorerSuch a classic...love the inside of that trailer. Ricky trying to take a shower is so funny and backing it up at the Aunt's house!
- captain-cavemanExplorerI remember one where they went on a trip with a motor home. If i remember right it was one of the shows, Not a movie. Very funny.
- americanrascalExplorerThe DW has been collecting rocks ever since the first time she saw the movie. My axles are bent and the transmission now smokes all the time.
- IAMICHABODExplorer IIThe 1954 Classic on DVD for less than $5, great to have for those rainy days in the camper.
- TucsonJimExplorer IIOh how I wish I'd seen your posting earlier.
- YC_1NomadRecording it for the wife. She loves it. It is soooo true though. The junk she just had to take along about flattened the tires.
