I have lived in Western Oregon my whole life. We are getting ready to retire and travel the USA full-time. We will probably still come back to Oregon for the winter. We don't like the hot and or dryness of the normal wintering states.

Our 5th wheel trailer is parked on gravel when we are home and there is nothing under the tires. No need to support the slide outs.

No need on gravel.

I would not have a RV that requires external slide support. What happens to the slide if you have a flat or jack failure?

Not needed and no.

For long term parking on gravel I agree with plastic boards. Cheap legos could work well.

If they were NEEEDED the RV MFG would have supplied them and had information about them in Owners Manual

They put upward pressure on slideout which is by design self supporting with the downward pressure
