Looking for a convertible toad less than 3200 pounds

I called Camping World, their expert says there are no base plates for anything newer than a 2001 MX-5 Miata 6-speed manual transmission. I can't find on these forums about a way around this. I see several of you are flat towing newer Miatas but I can't seem to find out what anyone did to allow this. Help! I think our vacation is receding into the distance and won't happen in the 16 days we have before we were taking off work and leaving.
