Thank you,everyone. We actually just got back from buying a Honda CR-V. Had it weighed at an iron-recycling place and it came in at 3420 with just under a quarter tank of gas. We're going to take the rear seats out, which weigh 135 lbs. So with the seats out and a full tank we should be at 3364, which we hope will be okay. The only Miata we could find close to us was not in very good shape, and we didn't think we could find a fabricator and parts fast enough for our trip. So we'll have the CR-V for our toad and everyday. We very much appreciate your help. If you see us on the road with an old Fleetwood Storm and a sky blue CR-V, please say hello!
