- Francesca_KnowlExplorerSince it's a 2012, the numbers might be a little different from those at the link for the 2013. Even a 2013 could be different, depending on exactly how it's equipped.
Your rig will have its specific numbers (GVWR and GCWR) on the ID plate on the driver's door. Best approach is to take a look at those to get the exact place to start. - jubymaeExplorerThanks for your speedy response to my question, my rig is 2012
- Water-BugExplorer IINeed to change the title to "Light Weight Toad". I was expection to read about someone trying to tow with a Prias. :)
- Francesca_KnowlExplorerWhat year is your rig?
I ask because at least for 2013, the 24 foot Chateau "C" with a Ford Chassis has a combined weight rating allowing for 6,000 pounds above the dry weight of the vehicle. Link to specs
You have to subtract the weight of everything you put aboard from that number to arrive at your towing capacity....even assuming you load 2,000 pounds into the rig, you'd still have around 4,000 left.
Many small cars/CUV's/small pickups weigh less than or close to that. - John_M1Explorer
- Dennis_M_MExplorerUnless you go for a smart ;)
- Homer1ExplorerCan't get much smaller than a FIAT.
