Hi ShaunaH,
An unlimited Verizon account would be my first choice, if I planned on having universal access in USA.
I'm in Canada so my best solution is T-mobile as they have coverage that is identical to the "big three" in Canada. I essentially have 200 gigs of full speed, and 48 gigs that I can tether per month. The cost for doing so has doubled my fees--but I am going from 10 gigs to 200. I do not absolutely have to have access, 24/7.
I keep $10,000.00 available for repairs.
You may wish to experiment with living in a tiny space by setting up a situation where you live in only your kitchen and bathroom where you reside now. Even if you have a washing machine--don't allow yourself to use it for the time frame of the "test". No freezer other than the one in your fridge--and take out all but two shelves in the fridge.
My class C has no slides so my effective living area is around 200 square feet. I don't have the luxury of following the seasons, so my RV is highly modified for cold weather use.

I'm actually already in discussions with the folks at technomadia, I will probably be hiring them for a custom consult also. I have budgeted several hundred dollars a month for internet access.
I do need to do some more research on appropriate reserve funds, any good links/resources you recommend?
