You might find someone to travel with for a while, and if so, great. Hat's off to you for thinking outside the box. Cherie might even have some ideas on how to find a suitable RVer.
10 days or 2 weeks would be more than enough time for you to see how everything works. Hooking and unhooking, emptying and filling tanks, etc. is really not a big deal. Washing and waxing... unless you're a clean freak, you don't have to do that. You learn to turn a little wider around corners and obstacles (like gas station islands). It's like having a very small house that's on wheels and goes with you everywhere. However, it can be bothersome when you must put everything away securely before traveling and get it back out when you arrive somewhere. And you'll find that you miss having certain things that you have no room for in the RV; for me that would be my favorite La-Z-Boy.
