- fcooperExplorer IIWell, I'm sure that the one I've been using is not a quality unit, but I've been using it in the Rv for more then 6 months with no problems. Purchased from ebay, and don't remember the exact vendor but it looks identical to the one in the link below:
dash cam
The instructions are very limited, but not too hard to figure out. It takes good quality pictures. I wanted to capture what was in the front view of the rv in case of an accident, and it does this very well.
Fred - Johno02ExplorerCheck out the trucker stops and suppliers. Many more dash cameras are being used by OTR truckers in self-defense. Be advised the next time you cut off a big rig. Especially the full-time OTR rigs.

I am looking to purchase a dash camera for the RV does anyone know what kind to look for? I hate junk that doesn't work so I want a quality unit.
Thanks Bob
No reccommendations, but a good site to brouse. This is their home page, surf to the cam/dvr pages for any type that you can imagine.
Car Cams etc. - Jay_PatExplorerHere is another source.Eye Witness Video
With the system I had in the big rig, I had a choice of lens and got the wide angle. Also, I liked mine mounted as close to the middle of the windshield (I had to work with a post in the middle of my windshield).
I had a different brand that is out of business.
Hope this helps!
Pat - gboppExplorerI've read that dash cams are very popular in Russia.
There is info about dash cams available at Dashcamtalk.com
I don't think it's a very difficult installation.
However, I don't know enough about them to make any comments. - Two_HandsExplorerAre you talking about a dash monitor with a rear and perhaps side cameras. Or are you really talking about a dash camera. I had a dash camera in my patrol unit but it was to record traffic stops and other front of the car interactions. I am not sure how you would use a dash camera in an rv.
- gboppExplorerWelcome to the forum.
It will be interesting to see what the forum members recommend. I'm also interested in a dash cam but, I know nothing about them.
