Get a copy of Rand McNally's "Motor Carriers Atlas". This will give you low clearances, authorized routes and restricted routes. IMO nothing beats stubby pencil, electronics/GPS units can burp, etc and not route you away from low clearances.
Lol when I grabbed my phone to take a detour and it didn't work I was so mad. Then I realized it's my fault to trust a phone.
