Low price for diesel
Diesel prices around me went below 3 bucks a gallon. If I put fuel in my auxiliary tank how soon should I use it before it goes stale???

Put some biocide in the diesel. The new ULSD content will get algae etc a lot faster than the the old fuel with sulfur in it.
Regardless of what others have gotten away with, Biocide is cheap insurance that will keep you from repairs that will run into the many thousands. Algae can start forming in a matter of 4 to 6 months and you wont know until it's way too late.
