Low price for diesel
Diesel prices around me went below 3 bucks a gallon. If I put fuel in my auxiliary tank how soon should I use it before it goes stale???

Algae will surely grow in a few months when diesel is stored in a dark sealed place. You will know it when your fuel filters start getting clogged up way before they are due to be changed.
