For free you can download low clearance databases from poi factory. I use their database on my garmin and microsoft streets and trips. I particularly like using streets and trips with the database as I can visually survey my route and see any issues before the days travel. As far as I'm concerned, garmin devices are not particularly user friendly for route planning and review.
