FWIW, auto changeover regulators actually have 2 first stage regulators built in, and moving the lever/knob changes the adjustment pressure- the "service" side is set at a higher pressure, which keeps the reserve side closed, until tank pressure drops below the set point, when the reserve side can open and flow.
Be aware though that in very cold weather, it is easy to drain both cylinders, as they cannot vaporize enough LP to keep up with demand.
