In 77 we had a home invasion. Deep in sleep, I heard enough to finally stir but...my handgun was too far under the bed.
What happened so seared my daughter's and wife's mind they refuse to remember it except one or two times, wife said she seemed to remember it.
In deep sleep you are a real disadvantage, that could cost you and your family's lives.
Our loved Dakota departed us last year. He saved us one evening when I was in the breakfast nook on the computer and wife in the kitchen. he charged the door and whoever it was went the other way.
So a family dog is a great part of home and RV security planning.
I'm not sure I can stand the loss of another best friend and we never took him RVing with us but...that may change.
And we are armed. I need a lot more practice as I haven't kept up because I didn't want to scare the deer and turkeys off.
I learned to point shot or instinct shoot t an early age. One two or three I believe I can get them all if need be.
Wife refuses to practice however.
