We are presently volunteering at a beautiful state park but one that has the worst volunteer management. There are 3 permanent residence host plus 3 long timer returners that think they run the park. There are a lot of host, double what is needed. There are numerous host that "pick up trash". What they really do is ride around in a Gator logging time. They do not assign their volunteers task, everyone Quote knows what's to be done. Because of this management attitude half the volunteers do the work the other half fake it doing nothing. This is one of the best parks we have been to but we probably will not return. It's too bad the state doesn't have a method for the volunteers to rate the management and make suggestions. This would be one great park if management had any structure at all. :R
