been doing a bit of looking, but have not found any info i need on mattresses.weight of different styles of them?..aka foam, spring, air, ?.looking to replace my factory installed mattress, and if possible install one that does not weigh in as the heavy weight unit.yes back support is a big if. but for the rv i might be able to live with a lesser one, if it would cut that much weight.just wanting to know if any out there has info on weights of what is in there bed? as it would give me a start for looking for the replacement style of mattress to buy.this unit was sold with a queen..maybe reduce to a double? (single guy here).

Our Enterra came with an Everpedic memory foam mattress, it is a full queen not an rv queen. In my opinion, this is by far the best mattress we've had in any rv.

Have a King size Serta in the rv and it is great. In fact I like better than the Tempur-pedic I have at home.

believe me with my back i would like to go with the best i can afford.but some mattress weigh a lot. and are mostly just dead weight. so do you have a poundage for thesis mattresses?salesmen are of no help here, they only know how to talk you into believing you can not live without there over priced junk. (so they get a fat commission)..

If you're concerned about weight consider a sleep number bed. The air mattresses are very light. Just remember to decrease the amount of air when you go into higher altitudes.

Check out a Sleep Number Bed...
Mattress conforms to the comfort level of 2 people & comes in sizes to fit any MH on the road. DW & I have been sleeping on one for years now & will not give it up! Just finished putting one in our new to us class A coach.

My sleep number is 50, & DW is 30.

Aerobed. Air bed. Can be set at any firmness. Most comfortable bed I ever had. $100 or less and weighs very little. Built in pump.
However, if you drive through the mountains, you have to let out a lot of air as higher altitudes cause a lot of expansion of the air inside.

Rv model with rounded end and actual rv size only sold at CW & not any where else.

i am kinda a weight weeny.
on my mt bike i dropped a good two pounds.
even my skinny tired bike has lost some.
but now my lungs and back say no to pushing the pedals much.
even my cj-7 has lost some poundage.
and my FZ1 is getting lighter.
need to add some to my truck so figuring were to cut some off.
so it just flows to cut where not needed on the rv.
like at home i use a pillow top mattress. would never put one in the rv. so even just a smaller (queen to double) maybe a thinner mattress?
can still give proper support. and no a single is too small for me as i travel while i sleep.

I recently read a report on what kind of mattress is best for a sore back and the answer was a medium-firm mattress not a firm-firm one like I always thought.
