Mattresses

I'd just like to state the obvious: Factory RV mattresses are really, really,
bad.
  • Sleep Number RV Radius King for me. Going on 11 years now full time. The OEM mattress was attempted to go to my niece for her dogs to sleep on, but the dogs would even walk over it. I burned it.

We all talk about weight reduction in our rigs and a Sleep Number definitely fits that bill and is comfortable too.
  • When we purchased our Jayco Seneca is came with a pillow top mattress. This mattress was pure ****. Purchased a 'firm' custom mattress from HANDCRAFT Mattress in Calif. and Florida. The specialize in mattress' for the marine industry. We LOVE their product. Five years later we replaced the mattress in our home and YES we went back to Handcraft Mattress.
  • Could the cheap mattresses be a way to cut the price on the rig so they can sell them? My big thing is that there are no posts that ask what is the best value RV only how much can I get off the MSRP!
  • Yup. The mattress that we got with our Winnebago is pure unadulterated ****. In the research and weeding out process now, looking forward to comfortable nights in 2021...unlike 2020 was.

Wish mightily we'd kept the mattress from the 5er - only a spring mattress but quite comfortable.

LOL! The mattresses in our two pop-ups were far better than the mattress in our Endura. We put a foam pad on top and it was fine.
  • The good, I feel less bad just giving it away and buying a decent mattress that suits me well.
