I was thinking the same thing. Those 205/75R14's are good for 1430 pounds each, and that's at maximum pressure.
I think the specs quoted above are for a load range B tire and I'm guessing his were load range C at 1760 lbs. Still a scary sight.
If your rims can handle 65 PSI look at a Kumho Radial 857 in a load range D. Very few load range D in 14".
(couldn't get the quote to work......)
That makes more sense- thanks for the correction!
Per the notion that any LT is better than every ST, which seems to be a theme:
Correct me if I'm wrong, but didn't the biggest "silent recall" ever recorded at least in this forum involve LT tires, many of which were used on big fivers? Kenda Klever AP LT's as I recall. Seems like folks involved in this discussion got caught up in that one...If Chris from Shelter Bay is still following: didn't your Cardinal come with those tires, which you turned in and replaced with your first set of Michelin Ribs? Or was that some other member/brand?
That is correct, my trailer came with Kenda LT bombs. However the Goodyear Marathon silent recall most likely covered thousands of times more tires than the Kenda Klevers. I just had to have them distroyed after sending them the SN info. Later they had people cut out the SN and actually mail them in.
The Klever LT was replaced by the Kenda Loadstar china ST bombs! Some took those in place of cash and they soon failed, with Kenda refusing help second time around! Chris
