McClain's RV I35E Denton, TX

Three weeks ago a made an appointment to get our 5ver in for some work. When I arrived at their shop this morning they asked me if I had bought the unit from them which we hadn't. I was told that they wouldn't work on our trailer because we hadn't bought it there; the reason being that they were so behind in the service department. The tech told me they started this policy three weeks or a month ago which was about the time I made the appointment. Although this is the last time I do any business with them it's not the first and they have all my contact information. If they chose to turn business away that's their loss and I can live with that. My grip is that they didn't let me know so I wouldn't made the 60 mile round trip. The work that I scheduled wasn't warranty, although I was going to ask them to do a couple warranty items that came up after I made the appointment.

  • I have heard many complaints about McClains from people on another RV forum and it's not just the one in Denton - the bulk of them are about the one down from Denton - the one on I35W south of Fort Worth.

I go by that one on the way to/from Cleburne and it's always got many units parked there, but I never have dealt with them and based upon what I hear about them,I won't.

Take it for what it's worth.
  • I hear a lot of complaints about McClains, although I bought my unit there and have had good service. The techs seem to be knowledgeable and always very helpful, but the service manager doesn't seem to be on top of things at the location I use.

At least you have many other options in the Denton area.
  • I don't blame them for having that policy although maybe they should bend it for previous service department customers.

It was probably just a slip up that you weren't informed and a good service manager would have made an exception in your case.
