We're exposed to other people's purchase joy so much that it's harder for us to not want more and more of it ourselves.
I'm happy for the folks that get all the bells and whistles. They probably deserve it. It's just not my style and styles can be different. It's OK to be different.
BTW, toed, I discovered a 197* Midas with a rear entry similar to yours parked out in the country. I was told the owner may sell for scrap price. I'm working on it. :)
Yeah, I say "we" in the global sense. I just spent yesterday and today in my 40 year old 21ft clipper. The dogs watched the neighbors while sitting in the cab seats (their favorite spots). Dog toys strewn all over. And I cleaned and washed and did some adjusting of things. And in the end, I am just as happy with it today as I was when I bought it.
Cool on the Midas. They're still out there running. Will be interesting to see what it looks like. A friend just sent me a craigslist ad for a clipper. The outside is in really great shape! Unfortunately, they'd completely torn out the entire interior including the engine... But for someone wanting a project, it'd be a great place to start.
