What about using mail order?

I have taken Coumadin for 22 years and have been rvin for 9years and don't have a problem with medicine . I use Quest Diagnostic, Doc fax a order I get the test Doc gets results calls me with orders. No problems.

I am being told that ins. Will not pay for a PERSONAL INR. monitor. Some where N. of 2K.
Plus my cardiologist wants to monitor It himself. I hav a titanium mitral valve
and a pace maker. Soon be 9 years. I think I can do as good a job as
I know how I reCt to the changes. My therapeutic level is between 3-4!

I wanted to respond to Pop-Pop C of N Texas.
I too am in N Texas, I am also on Coumadin. I saw an ad on tv just last night advertising a monitor much like a glucose monitor to take your own INR. I did not catch the company name, figured I would see the ad again soon. Because I am considering taking up the RV'ing lifestyle, that was one of my concerns, how do I keep up with all this medical stuff! I was relieved to see that it looks like that might be an answer I can use in that area.

The wife takes morphine and a couple of others; powerful stuff.

We have done walgreens all over the US.
TALK TO YOUR Dr. Course we are on a moderate amount of meds.
Coumadin is my main one, then havin INR ckds.

Yep Florida is tough. Personally I think sooner or later with all the older people here there will be some changes as snow birders may find it too damn difficult to comply with all of this nonsense (and thats what it is) and take their money elsewhere. Money talks.

Regardless so far we can't see a useful viable solution so 30 day round trips it will be.

I tried to get Walmart here in Ocala,Fl to fill a prescription for Ambien and they refused. Had to go to CVS to get it filled and could do it only one day before it was due. I have Sleep Apnea and sometimes suffer from Insomnia. Thanks Vietnam.

I disagree with "tough laws" when they inhibit the law abiding from getting their Rx. We're in essence trapped into 30 day trips or having the wife fly back every month which tends to make the concept of having a motor home moot. It took several months to find a Dr that would take her with an out of state license when we were in transition of moving.

Regarding faxing a letter from her Physician the point is also moot. A Pharmacy refused to fill the a Rx and the Dr (in good standing) was right across the street. The Pharmacist flatly stated "I don't fill these Px". Yes all perfectly legal.
