Our mice made nests inside that foil furnace duct thing under the sofa: didn't find it til I finally turned on the furnace and the nest blew to where it blocked the grill opening under the oven. Even after removing the nest, the smell was horrendous when the furnace was on. Googled "RV mouse odor" and found this short video immediately:

I ordered it. A bit pricey, but it works. Kind of citrus-y. Had to poke holes in the duct, spray, then cover the holes with duct tape.
