winnietrey,
Yes, and they do have your request and so many other things offered right within the state parks. The Michigan State Park system is run by the DNR (Department of Natural Resources). The DNR also operates 746 boat launches in the state and and CG's most are free to use. The state park sizes range from roughly 48 acres in size to over 58,000 acres in size. Lots of them are over 1,000 acres in size and have lots of maintained marked trails. 640 acres = 1 sq mile. Most pads in the state parks ARE level and so many have crushed limestone or asphalt or concrete pads. Some have all concrete pads as they are needed along much of the L.P. sand beach/sanddune areas. 4 have full hookups and more are being converted each year. Many have outdoor amphitheaters with proprams for kids and adults and are free. Some have museums with live programs and classrooms and are also free. Baseball fields, playgrounds, volleyball, docks, and so much more. Most have nice bath houses with all the hot water you want to use as the showers are not metered and not extra costs or token operated. Fishing and boating galore everywhere in the state! The state parks are a real bargin but some will gripe if it only cost one dollar a night! They can just go elsewhere and they'll be missed like a migraine that didn't occur!
