Sure are a lot of haters from Michigan in this thread, taking thinly veiled personal jabs at those that disagree with Michigan's fee policy. Come on folks, its just a discussion about a fee structure, keep it civil!
I can see both sides, and I choose to not use Michigan state parks because I feel the fee structure is unfair. What happens when Michiganders come on down to Ohio to camp? They get charged the same fee as an Ohioan. We encourage tourist dollars be spent in Ohio, our businesses love it. Go through an Ohio state park on a busy holiday weekend, like now at Harrison Lake, and you'll see a LOT of Michigan (and Indiana) license plates. Must be some reason they come here.
