How about synthetic chamois?
I used one called The Absorber (27X17) for many years as a towel to set my freshly washed dishes on. It absorbed any water that dripped off the plates. I never used it as a bath towel. I would think it would leave you slightly damp, based on my use of that particular one. Based on what I have seen, 27X17 seems to be the standard size. I have yet to see one larger but I also haven't looked. I prefer big, thick cotton bath sheets (40X70).
