Miles on a Grand Vitara/Tracker when flat towing

I am looking to purchase a 1999-2005 Suzuki Grand Vitara or Tracker, basically the same car. Does anyone know when you are flat towing, does this model put miles on the odometer? I had a 1995 Sideki...

Wish I still had my ZR2 with the twin cam V6. Great small SUV but a big buck liked it better last year and it lost, big time. He went from the passangers side front door, over the top and off the hood and spun me around 360 degrees. Never even saw him coming... on a dead run. Totaled it.
