I was US Army Paratrooper 1971-73 with the 82nd Airborne Division - made E3 from both directions!
Our younger son is currently US Navy, since 2005. He just re-upped for 6 years as a Mass Communications Specialist. He's currently working wor the Armed Forces Network studios in Riverside, Ca but next year is moving to Norfolk, Va to be part of the original crew of the brand new carrier USS Gerald Ford (CVN78) - still under construction.
My father was RCAF during WWII - served as a Wireless Operator on a Lancaster bomber with 434 Squadron, 6th Bomb Group, RCAF out of Croft Air Base in England from 1943-45.
His father was Canadian Army during WWI - took part in the Battle of Paschendale, from which the poem "In Flander's Fields" was written (by a Canadian Army doctor).
Four generations of service to our countries during a wartime period...
