A gentleman at the other end of my subdivision might disagree about Schweinfurt. But then, he only saw it from 6 miles up, back in Oct 1943.
He was a flight engineer on board a Boeing B17 from the 8th Air Force.
His ship was badly shot up, including fatalities. He said they landed on an emergency air field in England, flying on 2 engines and fumes.

I miss schweinfurt like crazy sometimes. A great place to be when I was single. Even moved back for a bit when I ETSd.
