Missouri driving age restrictions

Guess I'll just have to maintain my Class A CDL and have my annual DOT physical. I'll be 67 in August.

I personally would not have any problem with mandatory road tests every five years.

The problem with many drivers is their complete denial that they should not be driving.

I would believe that the death statistic for older drivers has more to to with their overall general health than the the number or severity of the accident.

Well states are going to longer and longer license renewal periods, I think Arizona is like 30 years. Oregon is 8 years.

The sad part is maybe drivers test should not just test normal driving, but handling emergency situations, and reaction times. That would get rid of likely 1/3 of the drivers on the road now days!!

The biggest issue is it is just not older drivers, I see on a daily basis people that drive and have about zero driving skills.

In reality all drivers should be retested every 2 to 4 years, written and driving with eye test. I would not like to pay thr cost, it is just the truth.

Well, who's going to volunteer to drive these folks around? Their children and grandchildren? Not likely. Or will they be forced into government housing so they can be kept out of cars?

What would you expect, a senior in a bed with hand controls and a 'vision' modulator driving down the road because s/he claims discrimination.

NO thanks ... age it's not a factor until you are unintentionally unsafe for others. The unregulated speedsters come under a different category completely. This testing is about ability - not ignorance.

After watching people operate their motor vehicles, can't really call it driving, this makes more sense than you realize. The states' licensing laws are a total joke.

In Ohio every driver takes a vision test when renewing their driver license. We renew every five years.

Any police officer can confiscate your license if they believe you are a hazard. My father's was confiscated twice. The first time he took a remedial class and got his license back. Several years later it was revoked permanently.

BTW, I think it would be a good thing for all senior drivers to take the AARP remedial driving course. It is all classroom and may give you a discount on your insurance. The cost is minimal and the class is probably offered at your local senior center.
