Last year first trip of the year I was headed out with a friend but the wife needed the TV for the weekend. Figured my friends F350 long bed would be fine pulling my 19 footer without a wd setup so I had him pull it. Well I got stuck in meetings and he was at my house waiting so I told him to go ahead and hookup and pull out. He cut the corner too sharp pulling it of the side of my house and caught the awning on my rain gutter. Ripped the awning and bent the bent the gutter.
Even worse after we got a few blocks from home I was noticing the trailer was making loud clunks at every start and stop. Checked it and he had used a 2" ball!!! Left the trailer on the side of the road and went home and got my hitch. I can't even imagine what would happen if that would have popped off doing 65 down the freeway. I learned that day that no one would ever pull or set up my rig except me. That point was further driven home when the DW saw the damage. :)
The crazy thing is he always pulled a 22' early 90's tt with that ball. Didn't know they had tt with a 2 incher.
I had a older smaller TT with a 2 incher once. But, most of the older ones I had were 2-7/8.(or something like that) wasn't until I got this one that I had to go purchase one bigger then that.
