Mister

I have done a search with no results. Who has a mist system for their awning or popup? What brand, where did you buy? I ordered one off of Amazon, rated for RV use, that had good ratings but we could not get it to adjust to mist.
  • Most clog up due to minerals/chemicals in the water in short order. Try Home Depot or Lowes.
  • Use a real good filter on the mister. Won't stop lime but if the sprayers are soft, a squeeze etc will loossen them and they will fall out.
They had mister system at Relative's Saturday fro wife's and mine birthdays.
It was a...dry... 110 degrees on the patio. you could watch the miss vanish at about 3 ft from the floor. It really helped cool it down and the occasional drifting mist felt good. Your clothes got sprayed they dried in a second or two and ha a great cooling effect.
  • I bought some at either Home Depot or Lowes several years ago during a particularly hot north Texas summer (105-110) to cool the air around the A/C units for our business. They worked very well but the nozzles did clog occasionally but easy to unclog.
  • most garden centers and building suppliers sell kits
i did one for my first class A RV, about 20yrs ago
it used about 40 gallons of water everyday of use
but it sure did help make it cooler under the awning
and yes i also had some clogging problems
i was not filtering the water going to the misters
  • The units with the pumps are much better. One that just connects to a garden hose does not atomize the water enough and you will get a wet spot under them (and on you if you sit too close). The pump models will create a dropless fog that cools better and does not get things near them wet.

I am using one to assist an air conditioner I've already had to clean the nozzle twice (Not been using it long)( now filter the water to it.

I also have 1 1/2 Table top/self standing misters four outside use why 1 1/2 Well that's where I got the nozzle for the A/C (the other half)
  • Thanks folks. I will look a Lowes and HD. With them I can likely return it, if the item does not work right. Still looking for a specific recommendation of a known good, though.

You can make your own. Do a search on chicken misters.
I have a screened in pool and put in a mister system around the perimeter. For that I used PVC pipe and the chicken mister fittings I bought. One key item is to have a filter system ( the chicken supply place sells them) that prevents the nozzles from clogging
