Or - have fun with the little critters while swatting 'em with one of those electronic bug zappers that look like a tennis racket! The zappers really work, and in the evening you get a satisfying snap! and a flash of light when you make contact. Skeeters fly slowly enough so they are easy to whack.

If you have electric, a couple box fans at either end of the patio would help. Otherwise, just use DEET. It's most effective and is safe to use.

We were confined to our motorhome one July 4 weekend when dry camping in a Upper Peninsula Michigan forest campground. The skeeters were so thick you didn't dare open the door. Spent the weekend reading books. :)

And as high a concentration of DEET as you can get!

They are hard to find now but we carry a small electric bug light with us. We set it on top of the power box behind the camper and plug it in. It does a great jog of attracting the skeeters to the rear of the camper and away from the front side.

I bought a 1/2 acre bug light from QVC and man o' man does it collect bugs. it attracts 6 different kinds of bugs, in a weeks time I filled the lower basket with bugs. when I opened it up to check it some were still alive and I filled a bucket with water and drowned the ones still alive
