Motorhome, 5th Wheel or Pull Trailer

If that is indeed your biggest concern, go with a tent trailer.

My 5th wheel is very stable compared to my old tow trailer. Strong winds and 18 wheel trucks are hardly felt with my 5th. wheel. I have no experience with Class A's. I will tow in wind conditions up to about 25 miles, then I look for a safe place to pull over and wait out the high wind conditions.

Well our 2001 Ram 2500 in the picture above your post was likely about 1,500# over GVWR in that picture. The TV didn't have bags, just the Camper Package for bigger springs.

My experience regarding travel trailers shows my new Chevy Silverado 1500 much, much better in wind and when 18 wheelers go by me (regularly) than my 2015 Tahoe. Reason...IMO longer TV wheelbase.

Doxiemom11, what do you consider bad wind. I have pulled along 101 on the Oregon Coast directly exposed to the Pacific in gale force winds with our old 2001 Ram 2500 pulling a 12,300# 5er, and never felt the wind.

Depends on the individual rv and your set up. We have a class A that we have added a saf-t-plus steering stabalizer and did the cheap handling fix front and rear to our ford chassis. It is much better than when we originally got it, but it's still a high profile vehicle that will be affected by wind. We don't drive in windy conditions and it's safer for any RV to not travel when winds are bad, some of those 5th wheels are taller than we are (we are 12' 6") and the wind can catch a travel trailer and start you rolling.
