Move to diesel engines across the RV spectrum a fad?

I'm noticing that in every segment of RV-ing, be it tow vehicles, or motorhomes, diesel engines are appearing as options (such as the one on the 1500 Dodge.) I wonder if this is something that is h...

Redsky is right, diesels can get great mileage, but you pay for it up front in the purchase price and then continue to pay for it high fuel cost, high maintenance cost, filter changes and unless you buy a jake brake set up, you will be buying very expensive brakes often.
