Move to diesel engines across the RV spectrum a fad?

I'm noticing that in every segment of RV-ing, be it tow vehicles, or motorhomes, diesel engines are appearing as options (such as the one on the 1500 Dodge.) I wonder if this is something that is h...

Ive heard from the folks at diesel forum,
that diesel engine is not worth the extra expense unless you tow heavy loads and drive at least 100k a year..
I dont so wouldnt ever buy one.
.I also noticed that diesel engine takes long time to warm up,
especialy in winter so many truckers leave them sit idling even when going shoping to the store etc...hardly efficient way to save money on fuel!!
