Moving an RV ready to collapse

One of the challenges I have is I own a 1975 trailer that the box is rotten and ready to collapse. It should be fine, but I am worried one bad bump and over it goes. I need to get it 3 hours to my house to dispose of it safely.

How would you strengthen it to try to keep it together for the long trip?

+1. Best to pay to dispose it where it's currently parked. It'll cost you more to be stuck on the side of the road then having to pay someone to load it on a flatbed then dispose of it. :B

Not to worry, at the end of the dirt road there probably wont be much left.
Actually I think as BurbMan said, the wind load will probably fold it up pretty well.
I would consider cutting it up with a sawzall into smaller bite sized pieces that perhaps could be stacked and tarped over/ tied down on the existing frame/ floor.
  • Still winter time up there.
Burn that sucker and cut the frame and axles up and recycle them?

That’s what I did with an old mobile home on a property I built on.

May not even need a bump, the wind load may do it. That's a long ride, I would reconsider the plan, if you leave that thing on the highway you may cause injury to innocent motorists and risk fines for littering.

I am more worried of the 20 mile dirt road to the highway.
