Well since I've never used this and I've seen people here lamenting S&T's demise, I downloaded it. Report to follow.

I'm on a very slow WiFi and when I went to download the trail program it said 1-1/2 hour. I've got the 201o version. My computer chased a couple of days ago. Reloaded pretty much everything, but the Street/trips program won't reload. I figure MS has has got something in there programs that will not let you install after a given date. So it looks like I'll have go and buy the new 2013 version. But I still might download the trail version just to see how it works and looks.

It's a 14 day trial, after which I expect you pay.What I like - you can quickly reposition the viewing area by moving the outlined box on the map of the country. Much easier than zooming out and dragging. The user interface is more traditional .NET stuff rather than a web based interface, however either is fine depending on what you're use to.What I don't like - needs a separate GPS on COM port. My laptop doesn't even have a COM port! I tried plugging in TomTom to a USB port and configuring that, but I could find a place to use a USB port instead of a COM port. Also the database isn't as comprehensive as Google Maps. I plugged in Aces High RV Park as a destination and hit Find and it didn't come up with it. However I added Aces High RV Park as the destination in the route planner and it found it. Then I added my next stop - Timberlane RV Park, Clarksboro NJ - and it did not find this place. If you need to go to Google to get an address, I expect any reasonable person would just stay there and use maps. Also, no traffic.In general, I think I get better info from Waze or Copilot RV.

Where S&T shines is for arranging trips.May I ask what version of windows you were using? I know the S&T works well with win 7 with a microsoft gps dongle. I tend to use it most in XP.I don't think the devices you plugged in are compatible with S&T. When I plug in S&T does configure a USB port as a com.

Look in the import data tab and see what formats it will accept. The 2010 version will import CVS, GPX and a couple of other file types. The 2010 version works fine for me in Windows 10. I haven't tried the GPS function with Windows 10.

S&T will come as an exe file if you download it from Microsoft. Once you download it to your computer, just click on it to install. It's best to disable any antivirus programs you have until after it installs. Chuck

I have been using S&T trial version with Time Stopper for months now. Can't speak for the other programs since I have not used them. But I know there are others out there that do the same thing. The key is to use them exactly as per instructions. Chuck

Use the custom option when installing any of these programs so you can choose not to install some things you might not want. Chuck

I tried that link and got a 404 Page Error. I Googled and got a lot of hits, but only One Site had a workable download. It's an older version, 2.0, but it installed on Win 10x64 with no problems. I ran an Avast security check on the zip file before installation and it came up clean.
