When poking around the MS site I came across the link to download the trial version of S&T 2013. Since I already have it installed I didn't want to mess around, just in case. I wonder if it works ...

Well, somehow Google Maps figures out where my laptop is without a GPS attached. I expect it's because I have google maps on my phone and I log into my gmail account on both the phone and laptop. It's one of those cloud things. I believe the reason S&T didn't see TomTom is because I have the TomTom management software installed and that kicks in when you plug the GPS into the USB port.
I use a tablet for navigation and it runs Waze, Google maps and Copilot RV.The DW watches TomTom and follows along on a paper atlas. For planning I use google maps in terrain mode and the eastern mountain guide if I'm going anywhere near hills.
I can't believe I used to just get in a car on Sunday morning and drive to somewhere I've never been with just a paper map.
