I don't believe I should have spent a couple of hours emptying tanks and being abused on the phone.
A couple of hours, really? I don't believe you should have spend a couple hours either! You could have flushed the tanks at home in ten minutes, done it yourself, and saved an hour and fifty minutes including wasted time on the phone. If you are going to be an RV owner you need to learn to do lots of things yourself or you will be very frustrated when others work on it. It is just the nature of the RV world.
