You may have encouraged your mom to have knee replacement, but I am sure she made the final decision based on more than just your encouragement. As you know, sometimes medical procedures don't work out exactly as planned. Hopefully they will get the bleeding issues resolved and she can begin rehab again soon. My mom is 78 and has had both knees replaced and over Christmas she was demonstrating that she can still get down and kneel on both knees. (I can't and haven't had replacement). If you need a stopover between your house and your mom's, let me know. I will PM you my cell phone. In the meantime, my prayers are for you and all your family to have a better 2015.
