THANK YOU ALL!
VERY sincerely, I thank you all (most of you anyway) for making the thread about my soda crate dilemma such a fun read.
Scrounge that I am I was sure I could make use of it for something. Then the dilemma hit.
Even before posting the question I'd emailed the OKC Pepsi Distributor. Pepsi's response? Apparently they didn't think it was worth responding - twice. I then emailed customer service at Pepsi National. They told me to contact the local distributor...
So, as I learned in the Army, no response is concurrence. We now have what looks like will be a strong & durable 1st step for the RV. And no guilt or 2d thoughts about it.
Congratulations on trying to make it right, not many folks would bother so kudos to you for going the extra mile!

Now, on the other hand, I work in a highly safety oriented company and my inner safety guy is thinking that standing on a device that was not specifically designed to be standing on is an accident waiting to happen..
Folks at my company HAVE gotten severely hurt stepping THROUGH bad wood and plastic skids and because of that our safety team frowns upon doing so..
I vaguely recall seeing your previous post about this plastic crate.. But I can't remember the size of it but I would really recommend seeking out a fold up step stool which has been specifically designed for walking on..
Then use the plastic crate for carrying things as it was intended..
I would recommend a Harbor Freight step stool, bought one a couple of years ago and love the thing.. Have even been using it in to even load big heavy firewood rounds into the back of my truck!

Folds like this..

and is often on sale for $19 and may be able to get it cheaper with a 20% off coupon..
