I call manure - the police refused to go after a stolen vehicle because there was "no cause"?????
Per the Seattle Times, Seattle police will no longer enforce minor violations (infractions) like not wearing a bicycle helmet and not having current tags. That is a far cry from "they won't go after a stolen car".
I found no such announcement in regards to the Washington State Police.
Well, you didn't look very hard then... and I wish it was "manure", as you so eloquently put it. It's already happened and it's about to get even worse if the newest Bill passes.
There's a reason car thefts have over doubled in the last year.
Your old Dodge van wouldn't make it a weekend sitting around up here. That thing is a meth-heads wet dream. And now it doesn't even need to be fast because as soon as the perp doesn't want to pull over, he gone....forever.
And yes, they won't really enforce any minor violations to speak of anymore, according to the news. Hard to tell, if a cop just hasn't seen me running around with expired tags or if they just looked the other way...
Also my neighbor is a senior detective for one of the umm less than desirable local municipalities and did undercover work for quite a while.
He used to always drive a nice expensive "private" vehicle for work. They were cars that were seized during drug busts and stuff. And he had full use of them working undercover.
I asked him recently why he's back in an unmarked Tahoe and he said with the loss of so many officers due to how WA is treating it's LEOs and the de-criminalization of so many things, they don't do alot of undercover work anymore. What's that tell you about the state of things here?
Seattle got so bad during the riots last year, the police chief resigned (female, person of color, democrat). And the mayor didn't re-run for office. Both of them were at least good enough people to not back the atrocities taking place here.
Maybe these types of things were already happening in other ultra liberal areas like Cali and some people are just conditioned to it now?
Got another one. Friends kid was attending a football camp in a different bad suburb. Perps ran over to sidelines where kids had their duffel bags and swiped a couple backpacks (because they all have the kids' phones, wallets and car keys in them while they're on the field). Kid was parked front row next to the field and notices his lights/horn blink a few times. Thinks it's weird, backpack is gone. Few of the players run over and stand by his Jeep. Jeep door locks go again and then it remote starts. They start screaming and hollering. Someone calls 911. Cops are there in literally a couple minutes.
Best advice the cops had was "Better stay by your vehicle until your parents bring the spare key or the vehicle will be gone. Anything else we can help you with? We don't go after stolen backpacks, even if it may be attached to someone in the vicinity. Don't care if the stolen backpack is actually a car theft in progress. Have a nice day..."
