Need Advice For Caulking RV

I am re-caulking my travel trailer, and I am not sure what to do where the roof meets the gutter. There is a little strip of butyl tape sticking out of where the roof membrane goes into the trim/gutter strip. Should I 1) pull the strip off and caulk the joint, 2) caulk along the butyl strip, or 3) leave it all alone?
  • I would suggest you apply Eternabond tape along all the room seams. Do it once and you'll never have to worry about re-caulking again.
  • Yes scrape the butyl off. But don't try to pull it from behind the gutter. Just pull the stuff you can see and then caulk over it.
  • Scrape out the butyl and apply the non sag Dicor in the L.
